the end of year wrap-up
It is the closing of the year, 2004. These are the things I know.



My name is Lindsay Michelle.
I am 18 years old. I am female.
I am a first year student at Simon Fraser University. I am the first person in my family to attend university.
I work in a large chain of child-oriented pizza restaurants. I host birthday parties. I make $8/hour.
My natural state is 'nocturnal'.
I still don't drive.
I still have a boyfriend.
My favorite word in the entire world is 'motherfucker'.
My favorite number is six.
I live with my parents and a cat in the middle of suburbia.
I am not proficient in shovel.
I am weak against my very mind.
I am sexually ambiguous. I have come to terms with this fact.
My hair is red-blonde and the style could be best described as 'utility'. My eyes are blue. My skin is pink.
I am very pretentious.
I wear black-rimmed glasses. See above.
My favorite music is indescribable.
I get panic attacks, and I often think that I'm going to die.
I am afraid of going to sleep.
I am not afraid of bugs, spiders, snakes, heights, or the dark.
I remain straightedge.
I remain childless.
The following remain unimportant: My shoe size is 7 1/2, wide. I am a size 9. I am a 36 A.
I weigh 127.5 pounds. This is important because I find scientific glee in the numbers that say 'you have less molecules than you once did' and vice versa.
I like leather and shiny bits.

In this year:
The words 'Charcot Marie Tooth Disease' were signed in black ink on the contract of my mutation.
I went to Japan for twelve heavenly days.
I did not get a raise.
I graduated from high school and apparently 'started a new chapter in my life' by going to university.
I suffered from depression at the beginning of the year, and I'm still not quite over it.
I managed to survive while living by myself for a month.
I also survived my first round of midterms, essays, and final exams.
I started up murderandcreate.
I didn't win the speechmeet.
I did not get my driver's license, resulting in this year containing entirely too many bus rides.
I went to camp, and it rained, and it rained, and it rained.
Gay marraige makes bigbig steps towards legalization. Pot smoking, not so much.
I got a scholarship from Coca Cola, oh the irony.
My pookie died. :\
My grandma developed (we think) Alzheimer's.
I worked a short stint at Ardene's, cementing my hatred for retail work and the mall in general.
I was fired for the first time.

The world:
The sky is blue (sometimes), the grass is green (when it's not yellow) and the carpet in my room is white when it is clean (and it never is).
Moby still makes crap music.
People still listen to crap music.
There are other people in the world who feel the same why I do about lots of things, and this is a relief.
There remains a basic inequality in the world, and its roots are in capitalism.
Neopets will always be here for me.
America is entirely insane for re-electing George W. Bush.
Food will never taste as good as you want it to be, ever.
Chocolate will always taste the way you want it to taste.
Japan remains the most interesting place I could ever take myself.
D&D will be ever so dorky.
Ashlee Simpson does not have acid reflux disease.
I will continue to attact and have totally platonic crushes on gay men.
Michael is simply the sexiest name ever.
